By the grace of Allah, thirty five students from grades seven to eleven embarked on their Umrah 2016 trip this past winter break. Two teachers and six non-teaching staffs accompanied them.
Students started their journey to Mecca for Umrah. The sentimental experience of facing the Kabba is beyond words, looking down from the upper levels onto the Kabba, seeing the waves of Muslims from around the world united in prayer and Tawaff – are beyond any other humbling and inspirational experiences.
After Umrah, we joined an informative and enlightening tour through Mecca and its surroundings, learning about the Islamic historical and scientific significance of each holy place. Some members of us visited Masjid Aisha for second Umrah.
On December 21, we had the pleasure of visiting Arafat, Mina, Muzdalifa, Cave Hira and Cave Thour.
Friday 23December, after Juma prayer, we visited the second holiest mosque, Al Masjid Al Nabawi, in Madinah where we spent seven days. We were blessed with the opportunity to visit the grave of the Prophet (PBUH), Uhud Mountain, Masjid Qubaa, and Masjid Al Qiblatain.
We had a unique and inspiring experience of attending and assisting with a burial in the cemetery of Al Baqii. This is an experience that we will keep in our hearts for years to come.
On Friday 30th December 2016, we started our return journey and reached Dubai on December 31.
The Umrah 2016 tour empowered students with increased faith and created memories that will forever be engraved in their souls and minds.
It was a very pleasant experience. May the Almighty Allah accept our prayer and show us the right guidance.
