Gandhi Jayanti: On October 2, a special assembly was held by the Student Council to celebrate the birthday of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Apart from speeches and other events a documentary presentation was projected to convey the message of Mahatma Gandhi, the pioneer of truth and non violence.
Sincere tributes were paid to the great freedom fighters and the martyrs.
Allama Iqbal Day: November 9, the TCS students organized a function to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Allama Iqbal, renowned poet, great philosopher and thinker.
The Head Boy, Suhaib gave an introductory speech. Thereafter, “Lub Pe Aati Hai Dua…,” was melodiously sung by the students in chorus.
Finally, a documentary film based on the life of this great man was shown.
Children’s Day: The birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pdt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was celebrated with great pomp and show.
Beautiful oration by Mr. Faheemullah enhanced the patriotic feelings among the audience and made everyone thoughtful. Furthermore, the patriotic songs sung by some of the teachers made the occasion more bright and colourful.
The celebration culminated in a friendly volleyball match between the students and teachers.
It was all to pay rich tributes to Chacha Nehru and his love for children.
Art And Craft: November 20: An art and craft demonstration and training was conducted for the students of Grades 3 to 6, by Mr. Dilip Kumar, an expert in this field. He demonstrated the techniques of creating beautiful designs using colour paper.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the training session and those with an inherent ability in
Art and Craft, enhanced their skills in making decorative designs.
Books on Art and Craft designs were also distributed to the students on this occasion.
Centralites Visit Sharjah International Book Fair
November 12: As part of the co-scholastic activities, the students were taken to the Annual International Book Fair at the Expo Centre, Sharjah.
Over 200 publishing houses from all around the world participated and exhibited their best sellers. The festival hosted many well known writers.
The festival also included a series of technical workshops as well as theatre performances. All the students actively participated in the session led by Mr. Shiva Khera and returned with valuable copies of the best sellers and sweet memories of the trip.
Maths Week: (May 4 To 8, 2014)
Cross word puzzles, quizzes, power point presentation were some of the activities conducted during the Maths week with the objective to develop students’ knowledge, understanding and application skills in Maths and to make the learning of Mathematics interesting and enjoyable.
The activities conducted during the Maths week enabled the students to gain self-belief in their abilities to accomplish tasks assigned to them.
The fascinating week came to an end with an Inter House quiz competition. Finally, ‘Red House’ emerged as the winners.
Educational Visit To Department Of Economic Development-Licensing Section, Dubai
October 28: An educational visit to Department of Economic Development –Licensing Section, Dubai was conducted by the Department of Commerce. The programme was attended by the students of Grade 11 and 12. The students were accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Aslam, Mr. Abdul Raheem and Mrs. Hema.
The programme was presented and controlled by Mr. Jassim Abdul Rahman Al Awadi, Audit and follow up Senior Manager, Business Registration and Licensing Section; Mrs. Muna Farooq Abdul Qader Abdulla, Manager, VIP Investors Service Section and Fatma Abdulla Al Hello, Executive, Business registration and Licensing section.
Students Attained The Following Objectives Through The Visit:
- How to set up a business organization.
- Procedures for obtaining trade license.
- Features of Limited Liability Company.
Picnic: Yas Water World
November 25 : Students of Grade 12 accompanied by the HOS and their respective class teachers went on a picnic to Yas Water World, Abu Dhabi.
The students greatly enjoyed dozens of amazing slides and adventure rides.
